So there you have it, people. I declare that embarrassed is now spelled "embarassed" Spread the word!
In Lieu of Random Fact Wednesday, I have something better! Are you so excited to hear my first embarassing story? I turned red for her when I read this. No seriously, I do that sometimes. It's weird. Our first story comes from Ashley at Hudsons Happenings, one of my very favorite bloggers! Her style is impeccable and she writes beautifully, so go check her blog out, but read her story first! Geeze.
Best news? She has decided to give me her adorable baby Hudson to raise as my own, isn't that fantastic?! She is so generous! Okay, I joke...seriously though, who wants to give me a baby?
Take it away, Ashley!
I may have the most embarrassing moment story, ever. Okay...picture it. The year is 2008, and it's my 26th birthday. I'm celebrating in New York City with my wonderful hubby, and our best friends. It's January, and it's cold, but we've had the most awesome night....we sat on the third row of a live taping of The Late Show with David Letterman featuring the fabulous Tom Hanks, we had a delicious dinner in midtown Manhattan, and we decided to head over to Times Square for some sightseeing. And this is where a good night goes bad...
My best friend and I were sporting the cutest outfits, that we had picked up from Barney's earlier that day. Mine was a little grey dress, that I wore with black tights and heels. And, since it was mid winter, I had on a short, red, warm coat, too. As soon as we entered the hustle and bustle of one of the busiest places in America, I had to find somewhere to use the bathroom. Thankfully, I found a public restroom at a Times Square information center, and my friend and I were in and out, and ready to take on the big city. We were walking, and laughing, and people watching, and enjoying our night. About 20 minutes passed, and I realized that I was starting to feel pretty cold. Especially my bottom half. Since my jacket wasn't long, I attributed the draftiness to a breeze and kept on truckin'. Well, a few minutes later, I realized I was really starting to freeze! We were stopped at a busy crosswalk, in the middle of Times Square, and that's when I figured out what had happened. Upon leaving the bathroom, I had accidentally tucked the entire back of my dress into my sheer black tights. I had been walking around the brightest, busiest, most populated stretch of city with my rear exposed. Of all the places for that to happen....it was in Times Square, where an average of 1.6 million people pass through each day (true story...I looked up that statistic.) I almost died of embarrassment. Right there under the bright city lights. Thank goodness I'll probably never see any of those NYC folks again....but I may be a local legend by now..."the clueless girl who paraded for blocks through Times Square with her dress tucked in her tights." Eeek.

Okay okay, that just may beat mine... probably trumps it. But, in my most embarassing defense, I was in high school so EVERYTHING seemed worse than it really was. Did I mention I was really red that entire day? Go figure.
Thanks SO MUCH for sharing your story, Ashley! And when YOU have time, go share some love with her. You won't regret visiting! And did I tell you her baby is adorable? Cause he is. His name is Hudson, if you couldn't tell.
Do you have a story equally as petrifying? (what a great word, right?!) Please send to thelaughblog (at)aol(dot)com so I can spotlight YOU!
Peace, love and public nudity!
